About

The Vegan Product Guide helps people find and share plant-based foods and products to support a vegan lifestyle. By allowing users to contribute data on foods and products, the Guide is an alternative to static lists that require constant maintenance to stay up-to-date.

We’re not the vegan police. We’re interested in sharing information to make veganism an easy choice, and to help people make informed decisions.

The Guide aims to serve a wide community of vegans, ranging from those who strictly avoid any animal products (even in trace amounts) to those who see their lifestyle primarily as a boycott of the meat, dairy, and egg industries.

If you’re not vegan, we’re glad to see you here too! Eating plant-based foods and choosing vegan products can have a powerful impact on animal suffering, the environment, and your health. For more information on choosing a vegan lifestyle, visit Vegan Outreach.

Why “debatable”?

People hold different views about whether vegans should consume products that contain trace amounts of animal products or use animal products in the manufacture. If you’re a strict vegan, you may want to avoid this category of products – but if you see veganism as a boycott against the greatest sources of suffering, rather than a quest for personal purity, you may decide these products are “vegan enough” for you. No matter your view, please don’t debate whether vegans should consume a particular product on this site. (There are message boards where you can discuss refined sugar to your heart’s content!) This is a forum for sharing product information among people who are interested in a vegan lifestyle.
